Ms Jade Powell

Jade is a highly experienced and passionate educator with over a decade of teaching and tutoring experience across the Early Years and Primary stages. Her extensive classroom experience is matched by a warm, creative approach that helps children thrive both academically and personally.

Jade has successfully supported pupils through key transition points, including preparation for 7+, 8+, and 9+ entrance exams to top-performing independent schools. She specialises in strengthening exam strategies across reading, maths, verbal, and non-verbal reasoning—helping children approach assessments with confidence and clarity. Her students have gone on to secure places at some of the country’s leading institutions, and parents consistently praise her calm, nurturing manner and results-driven approach.


At the heart of Jade’s teaching philosophy is a commitment to developing lifelong learners. Her lessons are engaging, well-structured, and tailored to each child’s unique learning style. She is particularly skilled at building confidence, independence, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning that lasts well beyond the classroom.


Outside of teaching, Jade enjoys developing creative projects, exploring the natural world, and staying up to date with the latest innovations in education. With a specialism in Art and Design, Jade brings creativity into every lesson, encouraging children to think visually and express ideas confidently. She also has a strong interest in Forest School education and coding for kids—two areas that reflect her belief in holistic, forward-thinking learning. A passionate advocate for literacy, Jade aims to instil a deep love of reading and storytelling in every child she teaches.

Mr Cedric Poon


Cedric is a graduate of Imperial College London with an MSci in Chemistry with Molecular Physics, and he is passionate about turning tricky STEM ideas into clear, confidence‑building learning. With five years of teaching experience spanning 7+ and 8+ tutoring, coding camp instruction, GCSE and A level preparation, and his current role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Imperial College, he helps learners of all ages strengthen their skills in Maths, Chemistry, and Physics while developing the exam technique and confidence needed to perform under pressure.


Beyond tutoring, Cedric contributes actively to university teaching. He created a chemistry education website that offers accessible explanations and practice; designed an official linear algebra course for incoming Chemistry undergraduates at Imperial College London to bridge early knowledge gaps; and now takes on lecture duties and class support in the Chemical Engineering Department, where clear communication and real‑world examples guide every session.


A keen graphic designer, Cedric integrates polished visuals into his teaching materials, including diagrams, step‑by‑step walkthroughs, and well‑structured notes that make complex topics easier to grasp. Parents appreciate his structured lessons, regular feedback, and warm, encouraging manner, while students value the blend of high expectations with supportive guidance.

Miss Molly Cressey-Rodgers


Molly is an engaging and dedicated tutor with a focus on inspiring students to reach their full academic potential. She recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Mathematics. She brings both subject expertise and a genuine passion for helping students not only succeed in mathematics, but also find real enjoyment in the subject.


With experience teaching in both one-to-one and small group settings, Molly specialises in developing problem-solving skills and encouraging creative approaches to both mathematics and literary subjects. She is particularly committed to supporting students of all abilities, helping them build confidence, overcome challenges, and take pride in their progress.


Molly combines clear explanations with  interactive activities and challenges, ensuring that her lessons are both engaging  and accessible. Her background in philosophy informs this approach, encouraging students to think critically and approach problems with curiosity.


Beyond teaching, Molly enjoys exploring London’s cultural life through its museums and exhibitions, and discovering new cafés.

Miss Molly May


Molly May is a passionate and experienced educator with over 8 years of teaching and tutoring across primary year levels. She studied in Australia and is a graduate of Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Education (Primary), bringing together strong academic foundations and a deep commitment to helping every child thrive.


Molly May specialises in developing students’ confidence in problem-solving and reasoning, while also fostering creativity in reading and writing. She creates a positive and focused learning environment where students feel supported to take on challenges and grow.


Molly May is committed to helping every child reach their full potential through supportive and personalised guidance. Her calm and reassuring approach creates a safe space where students feel confident to take on challenges and grow both academically and personally. She provides constant feedback throughout each lesson, helping students stay on track, build confidence, and make steady progress.


Outside the classroom, Molly May enjoys reading and playing team sports, which contribute to her dynamic and balanced teaching style. With warmth, dedication, and a genuine passion for learning, Molly May continues to make a lasting impact on every learner she supports.

Miss Aneeka Bartlett

Aneeka is an experienced private tutor and education consultant with expertise in the UK curriculum, supporting students through both school and university admissions. With a BA in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford and an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from Universiteit Leiden, she works closely with primary and lower secondary students, strengthening their English and language skills while fostering critical thinking and literary awareness. Her teaching approach is always future-focused, helping students develop the mindset and study habits that lead to long-term academic success. Her educational philosophy is rooted in holistic development, encouraging students to pursue their interests and talents while growing intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

With over ten years of tutoring experience, Aneeka has successfully prepared students for 7+,11+, 13+ and 16+ entrance exams to leading independent schools. She specialises in building children’s confidence in reasoning and problem-solving, while also nurturing their creativity in reading and writing.


As a consultant, Aneeka specialises in Oxbridge, UCAS, and EU admissions, as well as curriculum design and student mentorship. Over the past decade, she has guided students through the complexities of UK and European higher education, tailoring her advice to individual goals and contexts. Beyond one-to-one mentorship, she has also partnered with schools, NGOs, and educational organisations to create innovative, sustainability-driven programmes that enhance learning outcomes.


Outside of work, Aneeka enjoys discovering new cultures through travel, and she is passionate about cycling, pilates, and calligraphy. A dedicated BBC Radio 4 and podcast listener, she also has a love for storytelling and meaningful conversation.

Ms Chloe Plummer

Chloe is an engaging and passionate tutor with experience in successfully coaching children through the 7+, 9+ and 11+ exams. A final-year student at the University of Oxford, reading Chinese studies with subsidiary Korean, she is specialised in languages, drawing from her current studies and background as an Anglo-French dual citizen. This allows her to understand the intricacies of translation and compelling writing, helping children to express themselves more idiomatically and confidently in English exams, particularly if they come from a multi-language background. 


Parents appreciate Chloe's dedicated and detailed approach to teaching. She has been praised for her in-depth explanations and guidance on exam technique and structuring answers, as well as her fun and interactive vocabulary expansion exercises, which build children's confidence. 


Outside of the classroom, Chloe enjoys reading, dance and running, further demonstrating her energetic personality. Her lessons are fun and interactive, and boost children's love for learning.

Miss Caroline Young


Caroline is a vibrant and dedicated tutor currently reading German at the University of Oxford. With experience spanning from early years to GCSE preparation, she combines academic rigour with creativity and a commitment to helping children take those all-important next steps in their learning journey. Her teaching is energetic, engaging, and rooted in the belief that learning should be both challenging and full of joy. 


She has worked with young learners across a wide range of settings - from one-to-one tutoring and group teaching to junior tennis coaching - as well as in her role as an all-round pre-prep school assistant. Caroline has successfully prepared pupils for 7+, 8+ and 11+ entrance exams to top independent schools, creating tailored resources that meet each child's unique needs. Her lessons are designed to build strong foundations in English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and beyond, while nurturing independent thinking and curiosity.


A specialist in English, Caroline is passionate about igniting a love of reading from an early age. She uses fresh, imaginative techniques to help children engage with a wide variety of texts, build confident analytical skills, and write with originality and flair. As a writer herself, she takes particular joy in helping pupils find their own voice on the page. 


With a background in classical singing, ballet training, and theatre, Caroline brings imagination and expression to every lesson. Her fluency in German, French, and Spanish informs a global perspective, and she is dedicated to equipping every pupil with the tools, confidence, and creativity to achieve their personal best. 

Mr Humayun Hussain

Humayun is a warm, high-achieving tutor and final-year medical student at Imperial College London, where he also completed a BSc in Neuroscience and Mental Health. With over ten years of one-to-one tutoring experience, he specialises in preparing students for the 7+, 8+ and 11+ exams, helping them master the core skills of maths, reading, writing and reasoning. His strong academic background, combined with his interest in psychiatry and training under leading consultants in London, gives him a deep understanding of how young minds learn, adapt and grow. He brings this insight into every lesson, making learning both effective and enjoyable.


At First Exams, Humayun focuses on delivering structured, engaging lessons that are always tailored to the individual child. He has extensive SEN experience and takes pride in a flexible, child-centred approach. Believing that every learner is unique, he adapts his methods to fit each student’s needs, nurturing their strengths while building confidence in areas that require more support. His teaching goes beyond exam preparation: he places a strong emphasis on self-belief, resilience and self-regulation, equipping children with skills that last well beyond the classroom.
